About point no. 5, there's an interesting story about the relationship between the 'swoosh' and the Nike of Samotrace: the logo, and the company name, are said to have originated from a detail of the wing of the marvellous greek sculpture in the Louvre. I don't know if this story is... a myth in the myth, but it gives nonetheless a good insight on the process of successful logo creation. Nice and interesting article!
