Hi Chris, I love to find ways to tie together the offline world and the online world. But it's challenging!

Hi Gary, thanks for saying so. I've been blessed with lots of successes. But those successes are the result of failures, or "successful failures" as I will call this one. It's a successful failure because I did get some value out of it, and most of all I learned some valuable lessons from the whole experience.

I liked your this post on creating off-line collateral. I thought the earlier post on what Google taught you about creating collateral material was quite good but I was really excited about the this post, which I thought was not only good but brave. So few of us are willing to say "I didn't do it right!" in public. The lessons you learned aver very valuable and I appreciate not having to make those mistakes myself. Fortunately for me, my wife is a professional and professionally-trained graphic designer, who has her own business. She's created a template design for my website to replace the free one I used and one day I'll have it converted for use.

Thanks again for willing to be out there with the not-so-good (but not-so-bad) as well as the good.

I've been growing an online service (uploadthingy.com) through Adwords for some time now. I know almost exactly what the ROI is - not all that bad actually. Still, we just had 1000 post cards printed up, full color on one side, blank on the other. I spent this evening writing a small note and the address on the post cards by hand. I managed about 60 - now my hand hurts pretty bad. It'll be interesting to see how it goes! Whatever the case, I agree with you that it's important to remember that there is a world outside of the Internet (even if your business is on the net!) - and that there are all sorts of real world ways to promote your business.
