I honestly believe branding to be one of the top two or three issues small and micro businesses face. The whole concept is perfectly articulated in Ries &amp; Trout&#039;s seminal book, Positioning. Every business absolutely must find a corner of the marketplace for themselves that they can defend against competition, deliver outstanding results and own that association in the mind of the marketplace. 

I guess the trick is to try to find ways of branding that remain sincere and authentic.
